Chapter 1

I couldn’t help but think if I changed or not, it was weird to think that even through all the mayhem, all of the torment, and through all of the danger, that I haven’t even changed a bit.  Well, I must have changed just a little, I mean I am now mentally bonded with a wyvern, but I still wonder if I would have been the same at my mother’s little saloon.  I still ponder how everyone in town still is, if they even know of my absence, if they even care I am gone.  Well, I know that the sheriff might be getting a good scolding from whoever commanded him to capture me.  It was a shock to me when Shosk told me that the Zelps, also known as the country of Heat, was killing the single parents of older children around there teens, so that they could get able bodied soldiers for the war against the country of Ice.  It’s weird because I never even knew that there was even another country, I only thought that it was just I in my village.  That’s what you get when you live your entire life in a hole in the ground.  It all just changed though when the Judgment stopped by my town and when someone killed my mother, I don’t know who at the moment, but what I do know is that because of that I was forced to freeload on the Judgment which I didn’t know was the feared and heavily rumored Divine Intervention.  That was where I met Vio, the very strange and mysterious engineer of the Divine Intervention, Debbie, the chubby sweet little robin who cooks for the crew, Greg, the kind and free ranged dragon, and later Petrono and Hatter, the mute eccentric magician slash musician and the loudmouth hat, who are all good friends now, except for Vio who is questionable.  Vio and Petrono can control shadows and Vio also has wings sprouting from his back caused by who knows what.  Anyway, I am now part of the Divine Intervention or the Judgment, depends on if the paint gets ripped off the name.  I also later saved Sheila, or she saved me, or that we both saved each other, anyway she’s a little wyvern like creature that now has a mental bond with me because she gave me her name.  I know, it’s strange, but it has something to do with the tests that they did to her, and because of that she has the brainpower to be able to talk and I now have fire resistant skin.
Now I am sitting in an actual bed in Gear Mountain, a city-state hidden in a mountain, not able to sleep because of Hatter’s snoring.  Who knew a hat could snore so loudly.
